New Cool Accessible Apps!

November 08, 2011

Hundreds of new mobile apps are being created each day to help people to live, work and play better. Many of these new mobile apps created are focused on persons with disabilities. The use of such technology is truly revolutionary in terms of a new stage for assistive technology offering information and tools to better inform and entertain. When CTIA comes across these great tools for persons with disabilities, we like to let you know about them, so here it goes:

CTIA recently came across a website, SNApps4Kids.com. This website can help your children stay connected and “in-the-know” by providing you with reviews of apps that will enhance your special needs child’s everyday lifestyle. By becoming a part of the online forum, you can find out how different mobile apps can help kids with their speech, motor and learning skills among other things.

But let’s not forget there are fun accessibility apps too!

During the CTIA Enterprise & Applications show this fall, CTIA had the pleasure of sitting down with Paul Benjamin from Base 2 Applications that recently developed an app called ViBe. ViBe allows users to set different vibrations to callers so that you can find out who is calling by the feel of the vibration. ViBe gives you free vibrations such as a heartbeat, engine or a buzzing bee.
