Product Guide for Wireless Customers who are Blind or Visually Impaired
Listed below are features that may make wireless products and services easier for you to use. - User Customized Display – Product display screen can be adjusted for contrast, illumination, larger font size, and ability to 'freeze' moving text.
- Oversized Display Screen – Product has a screen area that supports larger visual display of information.
- Voice Dialing – Product enables person to use his / her voice to dial outgoing telephone calls.
- Voice Output – Product 'verbalizes' select handset functions e.g. low battery, roaming, reads out the numbers of an incoming call, call logs.
- Voice Recognition for menu selection – Product enables person to use his / her voice to activate select menu items.
- Audio Cue Capability – Product provides audio cues for basic functions (e.g., low battery, volume, message waiting, different audio cues for power "on" and power "off").
- Raised Dot on "5" Key – Product has a raised "nib" on the "5" key to assist user to tactually locate other keys.
- Easy Differentiation Of Keys And Handset – Product's keys are sufficiently raised up off the body of the handset and are made of a different substance than the body of the handset to enable easier tactile identification of keys.
- Touch Identifiable Input Controls – Product has uniquely shaped keys that identify essential functions (e.g., Send, End, Power, Volume).
- Data Device Capability – Product supports data (ASCII) devices.
- Alternate formats – Product information and billing is available to the customer in alternate formats upon his / her request. Alternate formats may include Braille, large print, and audiocassette.
